Day 2:
Our Family's Day After Christmas Gathering
So every Christmas in Maine, My family has a huge gathering up north and it is insane. There are children running around, dogs licking everyone, and wonderfully joyful people. A huge tree resides in the living room bundled up with many presents for everyone. After the thoughtful presents are passed out, the FUN begins.
Game: Yankee Swap (also known as White Elephant with some modified rules)
Goal: Try to get the best of the worst present!
Goal #2: Get number 1
Rules: People pick a number and pick presents in order. You open your present and then can trade with anyone else who has opened a present previously. If you have #1 then you start and at the end you get to trade one last time. Sounds like a good deal!
This Christmas was interesting! There were giant chocolates, wine cork wreaths, funny electronics, and a lot of alcohol. It's always fun to see what everyone brings. This Yankee Swap I was gifted with a wine cork candle holder and a cute hand knitted scarf! These are the fun times you will always remember! My favorite White Elephant present was a towel and bar of soap that had "Butt" on one side and "Face" on the other!
My brother and I have a wonderful relationship! We think the same and sometimes talk at the same time! The trip to northern Maine is about 2 hours. We tend to go crazy! We love to rap. In high school, I had the "best" car ever (the winner of worst car my senior year)! With no radio, we began to become very good at beatboxing and creating our own dubstep remixes of our favorite songs! The most fun we have is when we head bang to classical. Tchaikovsky is always a blast to head bang to. This trip we decided to reenact our favorite YouTube videos! Food Battles 2006- 2012! Pink Frosted donut has always been our favorite.
As this is a travel blog, I would like to end each blog with what I am doing and what I have gained (whether it be knowledge or supplies).
TRAVELED TO: Rockland, Maine
GAINED SUPPLIES: 2 suitcases, a hand knitted scarf
